As a photographer or artist, light is as important as it is inspirational. It sets the mood, changes colors, and defines the image. It’s true both in the studio and outdoors.
Like many of my art friends, I have become obsessed with light; a silvery glint mid-day, a final wash at sundown. The sun casting long shadows on new snow. But nothing beats the morning’s welcome—the red dawn behind my curtains.
No hair comb, no toothbrush, no look in the mirror. A long coat and some boots plus my Canon and I am out the door in a flash. The sky changes from red to orange as the ice melts below.
It’s going to be a great day!
